Top Ten Tuesday

Hosted over at The Broke and Bookish

Top Ten Books I'd give a Theme song to:

1. Delirium by Lauren Oliver - What You Know by Two Door Cinema Club. I always related them just because 1: the song came out around the time I was reading the book and 2: the song sounds futuristic and some of the lyrics make sense with the book.

2. Water for Elephants By Sara Gruen - Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine. The song was featured with the commercials for the movie and ever since then it just stuck. Now whenever I think of the book I always think of that song too.

3. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer- Wild Ones by Flo Rida ft. Sia. I always think of Nightshade when I hear this song. Its that one part where she sings "Running with wolves and I'm on the prowl", that always makes me remember the book.

4. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer - You Make Me Smile by Blue October. Stephanie actually had this song on the playlist for Twilight that's on her website. Every time I think of the Book I think of this song as well.

5. New Moon and Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer - She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5. So many lyrics of the song go so well with Bella and Jacobs relationship. Also a good one for Eclipse is Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon. I always think of Jacob when I hear that song.

6. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - Help I'm Alive by Metric. This song always reminds me of the book. It just has that vibe. And the lyrics match the book pretty well.

7. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins - Rolling in the deep By Adele. I think its more the rhythm of the song that the lyrics. Although there are a couple lyrics that are spot on with the book.

8. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - Cough Syrup by Young the Giant. I recently discovered this song via Jump start on VH1 and it immediatly reminded me of Mockingjay.

That's all I can think of now, maybe I'll come up with more later :)

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over at The broke and the Bookish.
Top Ten Twelve Books I'd save If My House Was Being Abducted By Aliens

1. The Outsiders- I've had that book since the 7th grade. No bookshelf I would ever have could be considered complete without it.

2, 3, 4, 5. The Twilight Saga- Yes, this was the first series I ever bought with my own money. And I love it!

6, 7, 8. The Hunger Games Trilogy - These are my #1 favorite books in the world. I could not go on without them.

9, 10, 11, 12. All my books signed by Maggie Steifvater which are Shiver, Linger, Forever, and Lament. It was incredible to have meet her and those books hold that memory.

Review: The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future—between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?

Its funny how it took me a week to read the first 3 chapters of this book, and then out of no where I can't stop reading and I end up awake at 6 A.M. done with the whole book.

I honestly can't decide if I liked the book or not. Well, I did like it but I just can't decide if I loved it. It clearly had me intrigued or else I wouldn't have stayed awake the entire night just to find out if a bit of hope pops up at the end of the book. The plot was good, and it reminded me a lot of The Village. I also liked the characters. Well with Mary I kind of went from liking her to disliking her to not feeling anything at all.

I felt very  hopeless through out the whole book. Every time I thought there was a little hope it would turn out to be the opposite. But I still really enjoyed the story. It was different from anything I'd read for a while. And I almost almost cried at the toward the end.
