So Guess what???
Today I got to meet one of my favorite authors, Maggie Stiefvater!!!
I traveled four hours just to say hi and have her sign my books and it was worth it!
She gave a talk for about 30 minutes and then answered questions from the audience. I was to much of a coward to raise my hand and ask any questions. I just sat there completely starstruck. And then when it got time to get your books signed, I was one of the first 15 people in line. Yup, I practically ran to the line. By the time I was next to meet Maggie my mind had gone completely blank and I had no idea what I was gonna say to her. So I just said Hi, told her my favorite book was linger, took a picture, She signed my books and I went on my way.
It doesn't sound so exciting but it was an incredible experience! Maggie was funny, entertaining, extraordinarily kind and over all just great! If Maggie stops at a city near you, I most definitely suggest you go and meet her!
"The Husband" here from Hippies, Beauty, and Books. It sound like you've had quit the experience. I understand what you mean though. I got to meet Saliva and Pop Evil before in concert. I was literally close enough to touch their shoes on stage. I also got to meet the bands before the concert begain (it was a small concert hall and I knew the owners.) But still, I kinda reacted the same way. It may not be an author, but I completly understand your mind going blank and the starstruck feeling. It's completly exhilerating.

ooooh! Lucky! She was 5 hours away from me and my car is in such bad shape I couldn't risk driving down there. I was so bummed because I read Ballad and OMG, saying I loved it, doesn't describe how much I enjoyed it.
